INSULIN PUMP CLOTHING : PUMP CLOTHING

57/365 Sweatlab Adventures We all know by now that I put 90% of my infusion sites in my lower back, so consequently Phineas (my pump) usually chills in my back pocket/back of waistband. With workout clothes this is kinda hard to do, as most shorts don't have a back pocket *grrr*...most shorts don't even hav side pockets! (which is why all my shorts are boy/men's shorts because most of them actually do.) I found these Miley Cyrus / Max Azria sweat capris in my closet yesterday and realized they actually do have pockets! yay! so Phineas went right in there :) While running on the 'mill at the sweatlab, he was still moved to the back of my waist band (chillin' on the inside with clip on outside) but until we made it there he got to ride in the front pocket :) It might seem silly, but "where do I put Phineas" is a question I ask myself constantly, especially while shopping for new clothes. I found this really nice pair of khakis the other day but didn't even go to try them on because as soon as I saw they had no back pockets they were out of the question. So tell me, do you struggle with your wardrobe? Where does your pump go during sports/exercise? Diabetes 365 - Day 26 - 18/01/08 First excuse me for being in my pj's in the picture. What I wanted to say with it (with the picture not the outfit) is that there are lots of reminders during the day about the fact that I have diabetes, but there is one that I like the least - my insulin pump. It's just always there, this one big blue monster hanging there, pulling my clothes and pushing right into my skin sometimes. It's heavy and uncomfortable and I wish it wasn't there. I wish I could wear my clothes normally for once again and have no tubing sticking out of me. It's a constant reminder of my body not being perfect and unable to function on its own without help. On the other hand, of course, I'm greatful to that little machine or rather people who invented it, bacause it allows me to live life more normally and more comfortably. Contradiction I know. But that's how I feel about the pump, I love it and hate it at the same time. I gues I'm rather new to it yet, not even a year together. I can't remember though what it was like using insulin pens and I can't imagine going back to them again, ok, I remember a little ;) Related topics: marine sewage pumps water powered backup sump pump ve diesel pump single package heat pump watchdog sump pump backup pool pump leaking water pool pump gasket burying sump pump hose |
